Summary
There are several Sara’s Cooking Class games, each allowing you to prepare a different unique recipe. You follow the directions in the top-right corner, gathering and mixing ingredients. There is a time limit which gives you a score at the end, but the real goal of the game is to enable the players to experience the joy of cooking through interactive game play.

Sara’s Cooking Class is simple and charmingly fun. Before one begins a new cooking class, the player has the option of looking at the real recipe behind the virtual meal; helpful for those of us who enjoy cooking at home.
What really struck me about Sara’s Cooking Class is how much I enjoyed the calming cadence of the sequential cooking steps performed at my own leisure. The game is so relaxing, when I first started playing, I didn’t realize that the game had a time component. Although the timer makes for a fun game mechanic it is not something you need to fret about.
I have tried a few different versions of the Sara’s Cooking Class series. Each one offers different recipes for specific areas of culinary interest. There are also some seasonal recipes. For example, I followed the provided cooking directions and made something for Halloween this year that I had never made before -- “Witch’s Fingers”; which are little finger-shaped cake snacks with frosting-covered almonds on one end. They were a big hit and I will definitely be making those again at my next Halloween party.
Sara’s Cooking Classes are not deep or complicated but they are both fun and useful. I genuinely enjoy the process of learning how to create a recipe in a fun gaming environment before I decided to try the real thing at home. I hope you do too. Bon appetit!
